| Com o objetivo de se avaliar a viabilidade de cultivo de especies frutiferas na regiao do Sub-Medio Sao Francisco, efetuaram-se estudos preliminares nos campos experimentais de Bebedouro e Mandacaru, nos municipios de petrolina e Juazeiro, respectivamente. O tipo de solo destes campos sao oxisol e vertisol, respectivamente. As especies frutiferas observadas foram as seguintes: abacate (Persea americana Mill), banana (Musa cavendishii Lambert), cacau (Theobroma cacao L.), caqui (Diospyros kaki L.), coco (Cocos nucifera L.), Figo (Ficus carica L.), goiaba (Psidium guajava L.), garviola (Anona muricata L.), Laranja (Citrus sinensis (L.) | Les océans qui couvrent les deux tiers de la planète sont susceptibles d'offrir deux types d'énergie. D'une part des énergies utilisables à faible niveau de puissance et capables d'apporter une solution pratique à certains problèmes particuliers : ce sont essentiellement les énergies de la houle et du vent. | Im Laufe des Jahres 1976 erhielt ich von Herrn Dr. H. Schuhmacher, von der Ruhr-Universität, Bochum, vier kleine Einsiedlerkrebse mit der Anfrage, ob es sich bei allen Exemplaren um eine Art handelt und ob sie zu Paguritta harmsi (Gordon, 1935) gehören. Drei der Exemplare kamen aus Australien, das vierte von den Philippinen. Unter anderem zeichneten sich die Tiere durch doppelt gefiederte Antennen aus, wie sie von Gordon (1935) für P. harmsi beschrieben wurden. Dr. Schuhmacher informierte mich, dass diese Antennen dem Fang von Plankton dienen, eine für Einsiedlerkrebse unbekannte Form von Nahrungserwerb. | Federal agencies are generally required to justify the economic value of proposed water resources development projects with benefit-cost analyses. Responsibility for economic analyses lies principally with the proposing agency, under broad policies and procedures guidelines. The economic evaluation of the Garrison Diversion Unit in North Dakota was used as a case study to examine the ability of federal agencies to evaluate their own projects. A consistent tendency to overestimate project benefits and underestimate project costs was found. Revised benefit-cost ratios ranged from 0.44 to 1 to 0.77 to 1, depending on the discount rate employed. |

| INTRODUCTION Of the bottom material collected by the Snellius-Expedition 78 samples contained Foraminifera. Many of these samples were extremely small, since they were gathered by means of piston core samplers; some were larger, as they were collected by means of a dredge; others were samples in shallow water at beaches or reefs. A l l samples were fixed in formaldehyde, so that after the 40 years they remained in store before they were studied, rests of protoplasma were seldom preserved. The numerous plankton samples, preserved in formaldehyde or in alcohol, did note contain planktonic Foraminifera; obviously the small amount of CaC03 in the samples caused the dissolution of the tests. | During the greater part of the Palaeogene the Tremp Basin was an area which underwent rapid subsidence as compared with the axial zone of the Pyrenees to the north, and the Ebro Massif to the south. As a result the sea occupied this area for a long time and deposition of the Ager Formation took place during the Late Paleocene and Early Eocene in a bay forming an appendix of the Atlantic Ocean. At the maximum of the transgression probably a connection with the Tethys existed. During this entire development the Tremp Basin was tectonically separated from the more southerly Ager Basin by the Montsech High which underwent much less subsidence. The southern side of the Tremp Basin, under the influence of this high, subsided less rapidly than the central part.... |
